Flour & thyme, began as an experiment in the kitchen.  The purpose of the experiment was to make cakes that incorporated real ingredients and could be truly enjoyed by friends and family.  Sugar, eggs, butter, milk, flour and a chemical reaction seemed so simple until I added fresh vegetables, fruits and teas.  But after a few tries, and a peek in my grandmother's recipe box, I  got the hang of it.  Now I develop my own cake recipes based on what’s in the garden or the kitchen at the time.  The result: cakes with an instinctive twist on the norm but a quiet tribute to bakers past.

My goal, as a health and community conscious baker, is to provide you with more than a delicious and beautiful cake, but the peace of mind that each ingredient is produced and sourced in the most sustainable fashion.  This means real ingredients, no use of artificial dyes or flavorings and whenever possible working with other local merchants to bring you fresh local ingredients and decorations. In addition, I strive to work with any diet restrictions or lifestyle choices you might have, providing vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and low sugar or sugar substitute options.

So go ahead, treat yourself...kindly!
